Through the combined efforts and contributions of several people in the U.S. and The Netherlands, including the superb work of Jack Johnston and Ken Marcum (U.S.) and Angela & René van Slooten (The Netherlands) we have compiled a history of many of the men and actions of Operation Market Garden from both the Allied and German viewpoint as well as the movement of troops and the capture of POWs.  Our greatful thank you for your time and effort.

Dear Friends,

Attached is the ‘Operation Market Garden’ After Action Report of the 319th Glider Field Artillery Battalion. I got this from the Library of the University of Ohio, that owns the archive of Cornelius Ryan, the author of ‘A Bridge Too Far’, ‘The Longest Day’ and other World War II books.

Unfortunately four pages are missing from this report, but the events at Zyfflich are complete, including the reports of two men who managed to escape from Zyfflich to the Allied lines, Major Fred Silvey and Capt. John Connelly.

I remain very interested in all information about the landings near Zyfflich and Wyler!

Best wishes

René van Slooten
