Dick Yates, Svc Btry 320th Arty 51-52 Visits An 82nd Abn Wounded Patriot Warrior in Walter Reed Medical Center. The photo was taken during the 82nd Assn Veterans Day activity in Washington, DC. This is a great affair each year attended by more than 100 troopers. During the three day event, wreaths are laid at all the Airborne Memorials, distinguished Airborne Troopers gravesites and the Women of the Military Museum in Arlington National Cemetery. The 82nd Association also lay wreaths at the WWII , Korean and Viet Nam Memorials. At each memorial the 82nd Color Guard presents the Colors and a member of each unit speaks of the gratitude for our departed comrades. After the day's ceremonies are complete, fifteen or so of 82nd Veterans load up in vans to make visits to Walter Reed Medical Center for visits to the 82nd wounded warriors. The 82nd has two active duty NCO’s stationed at the hospital assisting the wounded troopers.
